Ruth Gordon's Thank You for the Primary Vote

Dear Fellow Democrats,
With the certification of the primary election results behind us, I am honored to become the Jefferson County Democrats' official nominee for the position of County Clerk for the second time this year. I am proud of the fact that I was able to win while running an honest, positive campaign. I am grateful for this opportunity to serve and will do my utmost to carry out my duties as a candidate in a way that will bring honor and success to our Party.
No candidate wins without help. I have received steadfast support from many people who gave countless hours, political wisdom, and necessary cash. As the endorsed candidate in the Clerk’s race I received a generous contribution from the Jefferson County Democrats, access to lists and lore, and loads of moral support. I would not have won without you, and I realize that.
Having stood center stage during a unique year for candidate selection, I've had a very close look at our party and our process. We have in our midst courageous, ethical individuals who showed the patience and commitment to do the hard work of leadership for the good of our organization. I want to thank them for bringing our party through a difficult time. Thank you for your loyalty to the Jefferson County Democrats and to our principles.
I urge those who have not taken an active role lately to become more involved. There is a great deal of good will at the heart of our organization right now, and much work to be done. It’s not too early to start working toward successful campaigns in 2006; it’s already happening.
Ballots for the General Election will be mailed on October 19th. Please vote Ruth Gordon (D) for County Clerk
